Whether he’s on a service call or building something in the garage with his four girls, he brings the same mix of patience, curiosity, and know-how to the job. After years in the HVAC industry, he co-founded Phoenix Home Comfort to do things differently — with faith, family, and integrity leading the way. He’s equal parts hands-on technician and big-picture thinker. Sam believes good work speaks for itself, and a cup of coffee doesn’t hurt either.

Mary Hartness: Co-Owner & Marketing Lead

Mary keeps the heartbeat of Phoenix running — managing communication, marketing, and the beautiful chaos that comes with raising and homeschooling a young family while building a business. She’s the voice behind much of Phoenix’s online presence, known for her warmth, wit, and the way she quietly supports Sam so he can bring their shared vision to life.

Augie Perez: Co-Founder & Technician

If you know Augie, you know he’s steady, patient, and quick to lend a hand. As co-founder of Phoenix Home Comfort, Augie brings equal parts business sense, craftsmanship, and heart to everything he does. He’s the guy you want on a tricky install and the one cheering loudest at his kid's game. Years in this trade have made him skilled, but it’s his easygoing nature that makes customers feel instantly comfortable. Outside of work, he loves spending time outdoors with his family — camping, boating, or working on a home project to finish off a long week.

Tessa Perez: Co-Founder & Bookkeeping

Tessa wears a lot of hats — co-owner, bookkeeper, wife, and mom — and somehow makes it all look effortless. She’s the reason the numbers line up and the plans stay on track, balancing structure with grace. When she’s not managing the books and tracking the details, she’s crafting something new, cooking something delicious, or soaking up a quiet moment with the people she loves most.

Kayla Travis: Dispatch & Office Management

Kayla’s the voice most customers hear first, and the one who keeps the schedule (and the team) running like clockwork. With more than 17 years in customer service, she’s known for her upbeat attitude, clear communication, and ability to juggle a dozen moving parts without breaking a sweat. She’s also an animal lover, gamer, and maker of homemade dog treats — and hands down, the reigning office champion of movie quotes

Jesse Humfleet:  Technician

Jesse’s the kind of technician customers enjoy having in their home — friendly, easy to talk to, and always ready to help. He’s great with people and takes pride in making sure every customer feels taken care of. Outside of work, Jesse’s a dad of three and spends most of his free time with his kids or their family dog, soaking up the good kind of chaos that comes with a full house.

Taylor Cox: Technician

Taylor’s a problem-solver at heart. He got into HVAC for the challenge, stayed for the satisfaction, and brings a blend of creativity and skill to every job. When he’s not in the field, you’ll probably find him with his wife, kids, or a good book at a local brewery — if he’s not mid-remodel at home. Taylor’s easygoing nature makes him a favorite among customers and coworkers alike, and his flashlight collection is borderline legendary.
